The Vineyard Theatre has announced the initial lineup of artists who will pay tribute to Tony- and Olivier Award-nominated actor-playwright Colman Domingo during its May 6 gala at The Edison Ballroom.

Set to take part in the gala tribute are Brandon Victor Dixon (The Scottsboro Boys), De'Adre Aziza (Passing Strange), Ariana DeBose (Summer), Andre Holland (Moonlight), Rebecca Naomi Jones (Passing Strange, Oklahoma!), Forrest McClendon (The Scottsboro Boys), Alex Newell (Once On This Island), Susan Stroman (The Scottsboro Boys, Dot), Harris M. Turner (Summer), Sharon Washington (The Scottsboro Boys, Dot), Daniel J. Watts (Lights Out: Nat King Cole), Christian Dante White (The Scottsboro Boys, My Fair Lady), and more to be announced.

Domingo starred in the Vineyard’s world-premiere production ofThe Scottsboro Boys, garnering a Tony nomination for the show’s subsequent Broadway transfer. The Vineyard also produced his 2009 solo play A Boy and His Soul, as well as his 2016 family drama Dot. Domingo is also the book writer for Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, as well as the Broadway-aimed musical Lights Out: Nat King Cole. He is also known for his roles in If Beale Street Could Talk, The Walking Dead, and Selma.
