Grosses Grosses: The Music Man, Hamilton, More Bring in Millions as Broadway Returns to Full Grosses Reporting

For the first time since the shutdown, see full gross and attendance info for each Broadway show.

The Broadway League resumed reporting full grosses information for each Broadway production this week, a return to the pre-pandemic practice following the cumulative grosses reporting that was released weekly since Broadway returned from the shutdown last year.

Reflecting the week ending March 20, the numbers show that Broadway's biggest hits have somewhat returned to business as usual, with Hamilton taking in $2.3 million and Wicked earning $1.9 million—both around the figures each production was pulling in in March 2020, and both playing to near-100% capacity. The Music Man claimed the top spot, bringing in $3.4 million at 99.88% capacity.

Cumulatively, Broadway enjoyed a $26.7 million week, with attendance at 91.96%. The figures reflect a spring season in full swing, with Plaza SuiteParadise SquareTake Me Out, and Birthday Candles all readying to open in the coming days.
