A handful of stage veterans are set to appear in Sam Mendes’ upcoming war film 1917.

Among those joining the cast, according to Deadline, are Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Olivier winner Jamie Parker (who recently concluded his Tony-nominated stint in the title role of the Broadway production), fellow Olivier winner and Tony nominee Mark Strong (A View From the Bridge), Olivier winner Andrew Scott (Pride, Almeida’s Hamlet), and Oscar nominee Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game).

The movie will star George MacKay and Dean-Charles Chapman as two young British soldiers, charting their activity on a single day during the first World War.

The company will also include Oscar winner Colin Firth (The King’s Speech), Richard Madden (Bodyguard, London’s Romeo and Juliet), Daniel Mays (Rogue One), Adrian Scarborough (Christopher Robin), Nabhaan Rizwan (Informer), and Clair Duburcq.

Mendes directs the film off a script he penned with Krysty Wilson-Cairns. Filming is slated to begin next month ahead of a December 25 release.
