Broadway News Here's How to Enter the Digital Lottery for Broadway's A Christmas Carol

Tony winner Jefferson Mays returns to the Broadway stage, playing all roles in the Charles Dickens' holiday classic.

Broadway's A Christmas Carol featuring Tony winner Jefferson Mays has announced details for a digital lottery launching November 7, in time for the beginning of previews November 8. The limited engagement will open November 21 for a run through January 1, 2023, at the Nederlander Theatre.

Through Broadway Direct, a limited number of $35 tickets will be available for select performances of the holiday classic. Beginning at 9 AM ET the day before the performance, the lottery will be open until 6 PM ET the same day. Upon closing the lottery, winners will be selected soon after with a 60-minute time frame to claim and pay. The holiday show also recently announced the Bob Cratchit Free Ticket Program for individuals working Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Hanukkah, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or Kwanzaa. Applicants are eligible to receive a single free ticket for a performance November 8-20.

Tony nominee Michael Arden directs A Christmas Carol, which he conceived with Tony-nominated designer Dane Laffrey. Mays plays all the roles in the Charles Dickens Christmas classic featuring a script adapted by Mays, Susan Lyons, and Arden.

This version of A Christmas Carol made its world premiere in 2018 at Los Angeles’ Geffen Playhouse. In winter 2020, a film version, produced by Hunter Arnold, was released to benefit partner theatres during the height of the pandemic shutdown.

The creative team also includes lighting designer Ben Stanton, projection designer Lucy Mackinnon, sound designer Joshua D. Reid, hair and makeup designer Cookie Jordan, puppet designer John Kristiansen, casting director Stephen Kopel, and associate director and production stage manager Justin Scribner.
