News Larry Yando Returns as Scrooge in Goodman Theatre's A Christmas Carol, Beginning Tonight The Goodman Theatre's production of A Christmas Carol, marking the theatre's 37th annual production of the classic holiday story by Charles Dickens, begins performances Nov. 15 starring Larry Yando.

The production, which is adapted by Tom Creamer and directed by Henry Wishcamper, will officially open Nov. 23 and continue through Dec. 28.

The cast features Yando as Ebenezer Scrooge, Ron Rains as Bob Cratchit, Penelope Walker as Mrs. Cratchit, Nathaniel Buescher as Tiny Tim, Joe Foust as Jacob Marley/Old Joe/Hat Seller, Patrick Andrews as Ghost of Christmas Past, Lisa Gaye Dixon as Ghost of Christmas Present, William A. Burke as Young Scrooge/Turkey Boy, Phillip Cusic as Peter Cratchit/Ignorance, Larry Neumann Jr. as Schoolmaster/Percy/Undertaker, Kim Schultz as Mrs. Fezziwig/Charwoman/Tree Seller/Philomena, Brett Tuomi as Mr. Fezziwig/Mr. Crumb, Kristina Valada-Viars as Abby/Belle, Paige Collins as Martha/Fan/Young Woman, J. Salome Martinez as Dick Wilkins/Poulterer/Pie Seller/Ghost of Christmas Future, Theo Allyn as Miss Ortle, Gregory Hirte as Musician/Mr. Spinet, Malcolm Ruhl as Musician/Mr. Keys, Anish Jethmalani as Fred, Ava Morse as Emily Cratchit/Pratt/Want/Child in Doorway, Skye Sparks as Belinda Cratchit, Kareem Bandealy as Scrooge as a Young Man and Allen Gilmore as Alternate Scrooge. Justin Amolsch and Andrew Coil are Musicians.

Here's how the production is billed: "A Christmas Carol is the iconic tale of greedy British businessman Ebenezer Scrooge, whose sizable bank account is only matched by his hatred of the holidays. One Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by four ghosts who take him on an spectacular adventure through his past, present and future, helping him rediscover the joys of life, love and friendship."

A Christmas Carol features lighting design by Keith Parham, costume design by Heidi Sue McMath, set design by Todd Rosenthal, sound design by Richard Woodbury and choreography by Tommy Rapley. Andrew Hansen is composer, Ruhl is music director and Alden Vasquez is production stage manager. Flying effects are provided by ZFX Inc.
