MCC Theater has announced its full 2022-2023 season, including Only Gold, Wolf PlayBees and Honey, Wet Brain, and Uncensored.

The season will kick off with the world premiere of Only Gold, a new musical with music and lyrics by singer-songwriter and performer Kate Nash (Netflix's GLOW)—whose debut studio album Made of Bricks topped the Billboard charts and a book by Tony winner Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton) and Ted Malawer (Everything Beautiful Happens at Night), with Blankenbuehler also serving as the director and choreographer. The show, expected to run at the Newman Mills Theater in October, follows a royal family’s arrival in Paris and the reexamining it sparks upon townsfolk.

Next, expected to arrive in January 2023, is Soho Rep’s Wolf Play, in collaboration with Ma-Yi Theater Company and presented at the Susan & Ronald Frankel Theater. The work, written by Hansol Jung (Wild Goose Dreams) and directed by Dustin Wills, explores an off-the-record adoption that goes awry. The show previously had a sold-out run at Soho Rep.

Also occupying the Frankel Theater is the world premiere of Bees and Honey, which will run May 2023 in collaboration with The Sol Project. The new work is by Guadalís Del Carmen (My Father’s Keeper) and directed by Melissa Crespo (Native Gardens), and will follow married couple Manuel and Johaira as they enter new phases in their lives which challenges their relationship.

Set to run in May 2023 is the world premiere of Wet Brain by John J. Caswell, Jr (Man Cave), co-produced by MCC and Playwrights Horizons. The work will play at the Playwrights Horizons’ Mainstage Theater under the direction of Dustin Wills. Wet Brain takes place in a deteriorating house in Arizona and follows a family haunted by addiction and made to reckon with their patriarch's claims of being repeatedly abducted by aliens.

Lastly, MCC will present the annual youth company production of Uncensored in Spring of 2023. After two years of digital performances, the show returned to in-person performances this year. This production invites New York City teens to "speak their truth" on the MCC stage after participating in the Youth Company Performance Lab, and will feature student-written monologues, scenes, music, and ensemble pieces.

More information, including dates, casting, creative teams, and ticket sales will be announced at a later date.
