Broadway News Neil Patrick Harris Will Reprise His Role as Hedwig at Wigstock Return The all-day drag festival, presented by Harris, husband David Burtka, and Lady Bunny, hits New York September 1.

Tony winner Neil Patrick Harris announced via Instagram that he will perform as Hedwig of Hedwig and the Angry Inch (the role that earned him his Tony Award in 2014) as part of the upcoming Wigstock.

The reinvention and revival of the all-day drag festival is presented by Harris, his husband David Burtka, and drag queen Lady Bunny September 1 beginning at 3PM at Pier 17 at New York’s South Street Seaport.

The lineup also includes theatre stars Alex Newell (Once On This Island), Peppermint (Head Over Heels), Lypsinka, Justin Vivian Bond, Taylor Mac, and Varla Jean Merman.

Wigstock first burst onto the scene in 1985 and continued as a celebration of drag culture until 2003. Click here for tickets and a list of the full lineup. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Gay Men’s Health Crisis.
