News Phill Jupitus to Join West End Cast of Urinetown Comedian and stage actor Phill Jupitus is to join the cast of Urinetown, beginning performances Dec. 1. He takes over from Simon Paisley Day as Cladwell B. Cladwell, who departs Nov. 29.

Further changes from Dec. 1 see original cast members Julie Jupp and Alasdair Buchan, respectively, stepping up into the roles of Penelope Pennywise and Mr. McQueen, replacing the current Jenna Russell and Marc Elliott. Continuing in the production are Jonathan Slinger (Officer Lockstock), Matthew Seadon-Young (Bobby Strong), Nathan Amzi (Officer Barrel), Chris Bennett (Swing), Katie Bernstein (Little Becky Two Shoes/Mrs. Millennium), Cory English (Old Man Strong/Hot Blades Harry), Madeleine Harland (Soupy Sue), Rosanna Hyland (Hope Cladwell), Karis Jack (Little Sally), Aaron Lee Lambert (Billy Boy Bill/ UGC Executive), Mark Meadows (Senator Fipp), Christina Modestou (Swing), Joel Montague (Swing), Jeff Nicholson (Tiny Tom/ Dr. Billeaux), Kane Oliver Parry (Robbie The Stockfish) and Vicki Lee Taylor (Swing).

Jupitus, who is best known for his appearances on BBC2's pop quiz "Never Mind the Buzzocks" and BBC Radio 4's "News Quiz" and for his live stand-up shows, has previously appeared in the West End as Edna Turnblad in Hairspray and on tour as King Arthur in Spamalot. Other stage credits include White Rabbit Red Rabbit at Edinburgh's Traverse and Big Society at City Varieties in Leeds.
