Sally Shaw, winner of Playbill's 2021 Search for a Star contest, will make her solo show debut at The Green Room 42 March 12 at 7 PM. Shaw was voted winner of the Search for a Star contest by the readers of Playbill based on her performance of "Stay" from Amélie.

Shaw, currently pursuing a BFA in musical theatre at Ithaca College, will perform a collection of songs exploring the paradox of her career beginning as much of the theatrical world was still reeling from the effects of COVID-19. Shaw says the "heart of this show... [is] centered around Joni Mitchell's 'Both Sides Now'."

"I want to invite you to celebrate and reflect on the absurd and unpredictable beauty of life as we hit the two-year mark in the pandemic. Joyful, poignant, and hopeful. Folky, classic, and theatrical. You may only know me from my one-minute Playbill submission, but boy oh boy is there more to the story!"

Shaw's New York credits include Sasha Velour's Nightgowns: The Musical at the Connelly Theatre, and regional credits include The Snow Queen at Cherry Arts (S.A.L.T. Award nomination) and What Haunts You with Clockmaker Arts at the Kitchen Theatre. Shaw also makes costumes and manages merchandise for the Brooklyn band Sammy Rae & the Friends.
