Tickets for the special Monday night performance are going for up to $5,000 apiece to benefit the Democratic Hope Fund, which, the Times said, will go to help pay off Pres. Obama's campaign debt and to buttress the Democratic National Committee, which is paying the costs of the performance on a night when the show is usually off.
The event was organized by Broadway producer Margo Lion, who was characterized as "a longtime Obama supporter."
