With music and lyrics by Creighton Irons and a book by Craig Slaight, the new musical is now available to license from Uproar Theatrics.

Theatrical licensor Uproar Theatrics has added Homefront: A Musical, with music and lyrics by Creighton Irons and a book by Craig Slaight, to its roster of works available for licensing. Watch the recently engaged Drew Gehling and Julia Mattison sing "In the Clover" from Irons' score above.

The musical takes place in 1918 as the world deals with World War I and an influenza epidemic, centering on a young couple coming of age as the world is in tumult. Homefront was commissioned and produced by San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater in 2011, and the company revived it in 2017.

Watch Bobby Conte, currently appearing as PJ on Broadway in Company, performing "A Soldier Inside" from the musical below. Conte was part of ACT's 2011 production of the work.

"Homefront is a show about growing up in a world engulfed in conflict and plague,” say Slaight and Irons. "When the show first premiered in 2011, we could not have possibly imagined how much more relevant it would be in 2022. A century after World War I and our young people are still coming of age in a world rocked by conflict. We are passionate about creating opportunities for young people to have original and relevant material, created by professionals. Partnering with Uproar Theatrics, a company that shares this goal, was the perfect fit."

Watch On the Town star Alysha Umphress sing the title song below:

Irons' musicals include Factory Girls, written with Sean Mahoney; The Moon and the Sea, with a book by Douglas LyonsSoul Notes, and Staying Wild. His work has been seen at A.C.T., Tokyo's Amuse, Goodspeed Musical, NAMT's Festival of New Musicals, Boston Conservatory, and Pace University. His Lost Letters, with a book by Jon Karpinos, recently received a world premiere production at Indiana's Bloomington Plauwight's Project.

Slaight is a theatre artist and teacher, and served as director of the Young Conservatory at A.C.T. from 1988 to 2017. He has received the President's Award from the Educational Theatre Association for Outstanding Contributions to Youth Theatre and was a finalist for the Tony Awards' Excellence in Theatre Education Award.
