It's almost time to celebrate the return of the one-hit-wonder girl group Girls5eva! Season 2 of the Emmy Award-nominated series led by stage favorites Sara Bareilles and Renée Elise Goldsberry returns May 5 on Peacock. Watch the trailer for the new season above.

Girls5eva follows a '90s pop girl group that gets an unexpected chance at a comeback. Joining Bareilles and Goldsberry as the singing leads are TV actors Busy Phillips and Paula Pell. The new season will follow the musical group as they attempt to record their first studio album. The trailer teases tons of dazzling outfits, drama, and a guest appearance by Broadway's Grey Henson.

"Season 2 of Girls5eva answers the simple question: What would happen if Girls5eva was renewed for a second season?" says Executive Producer Meredith Scardino. "We are so excited to share the next chapter in Dawn, Wickie, Gloria, and Summer’s journey as they enter Album Mode and embark on making their first studio album on their own terms."

The first season of Girls5Eva welcomed appearances from Tony nominee Ashley Park, Erika Henningsen, Daniel Breaker, and Tony nominee Andrew Rannells. It premiered to high critical approval and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award, a Critics' Choice Television Award, and three Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards.

The show is led by showrunner Scardino and executively producers by Scardino, Mean Girls the Musical's Jeff Richmond and Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, David Miner and Eric Durian. After its 3-episode premiere, episodes will be released weekly on Thursdays.
