DESCRIPTION

The Pekoe Group is a New York advertising agency working with the city's top Broadway shows, Off-Broadway shows, and restaurants.


Graphic Designers at the Pekoe Group design marketing materials for our clients. They produce ad creative across different media and specs.


The work of a Designer at the Pekoe Group is two-fold. In some cases, Designers version out designs that match the approved advertising campaign creative, closely following the campaign guides and ad specifications. At other times, this role will be called on to creatively solve daily design challenges that may arise.


Candidates must be able to take approved creative concepts and version them to different ad sizes and media quickly and correctly.


Candidates must also be able to interpret written and verbal briefs from the clients and agency directors in order to provide design solutions for the specific needs outlined in the briefs.


Candidates must also understand work deadlines and priorities.


The Pekoe Group is an award-winning, fast paced, full-service Advertising Agency in New York City. Candidates should feel comfortable and excel in such a professional environment.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


- Command of the Adobe Creative Suite, especially:

PHOTOSHOP

INDESIGN

ILLUSTRATOR


- Knowledge in HTML, DreamWeaver, and animation is a plus, but not required. Training can be available


- Designers should be comfortable using Google Drive, a project management system, and time tracking software. Training will be available for the specific way we use these tools, but previous experience and understanding how they fit into a workflow is preferred.


- Ability to follow style guides and campaign guides in English, and to comprehend and act on written and verbal briefs and timelines



- Ability to communicate about the work with other team members, and follow edits and criticism with extreme attention to detail


- Love for design and being creative!


- Knowledge of the theatre industry is a plus, but not required


- Proven experience in creating a consistent and comprehensive brand expression across multiple platforms


- Exceptional craftsmanship skills and attention to detail


- Must be able to manage time to meet strict deadlines according to workload



YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:


- Following your daily To-Do list provided by Project Management


- Following Campaign Guides created by Art Directors


- Making edits and posting new versions of ad designs until the ad is approved


- Creating Final Files as necessary


- Following all specifications and ensuring your work product is correct


- Problem solving daily design challenges that may arise


- Working with both digital and print design specifications and file types including, but not limited to: digital ads (web banners and social media content), print (ads in magazines), flyers, and websites


- Coding using HTML for email blasts


- Packaging files and communications with freelance members of the creative team


- Communications with the team on progress and having a positive and flexible attitude towards the work
