DESCRIPTION

Inside Broadway is a New York City based Children’s Theatre company that brings theatre experiences to schools in all five boroughs.

We are seeking someone with scenic construction and design experience for a number of school productions this year.

This staff member must:

• Have a valid US Driver’s license.
• Be comfortable driving a 9’ cargo van between boroughs (U-Haul van).
• Must be able to lift scenery, lumber, and other props.
• Think creatively and solve issues on the spot.
• Collaborate with both the Inside Broadway staff and act as a positive representation to the schools we serve.

We have two types of work:

1. Install ($1,000) – This is a two-day commitment. One day to gather stock scenery from our storage and install it in the school and one day to return the stock scenery to our storage.
2. Design and Install (Compensation will be based on work) – This person will work with the director and Inside Broadway staff to design and craft scenery that will be used for a school production. All of our productions are Junior/Youth Editions (popular shows include: Shrek, Matilda, Addams Family, SpongeBob, Lion King). This person will also install the scenery at the site and return it to storage.

SALARY

$1,000.00 – $2,000.00 per gig
