PREPARATION

Please come prepared to dance. If asked to stay and sing, please have prepared 16-bars that both reflects the season’s programming and brings you joy. Also, please bring your headshot and resume stapled together.

Ensemble. Late teens-30s. A strong ensemble of singer-dancers who populate the Brooklyn world of 1977 and, most specifically, that of the club 2001 Odyssey.

Richard “Bud” Johnson. 40-50. Francesca’s husband. Diligent, dependable Iowa farmer, but exhausted and irritated that life hasn’t gotten easier. (Range: C3-F4)

Robert Kincaid. 40-50. Rugged, worldly, and visionary photographer who shares a deep connection with Francesca. (Range: B2-A4)

Marian. 35-45. Robert’s former wife, a musician. (Range: A3-D5)

Chiara. 35-45. Francesca’s sister, still living in Italy. (Range: A3-D5)

Michael. 16-18. Francesca and Bud’s son. Spirited and opinionated, grappling with his future. (Range: E3-G#4)

Carolyn. 14-16. Francesca and Bud’s daughter. Naive and sweet with a youthful energy. (Range: A3-C5)
