Gingold Theatrical Group produces a new production of George Bernard Shaw's New Hampshire-set The Devil's Disciple. But with one twist: the show stars five female actors.

Directed and adapted by Artistic Director David Staller, the production officially opens November 3 following previews that began October 15 in Theatre Two at Off-Broadway's Theatre Row. The limited engagement will continue through November 23.

The cast features Nadia Brown (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), Susan Cella (The Rose Tattoo), Tina Chilip (Knight of the Burning Pestle), Teresa Avia Lim (Snow in Midsummer), and Folami Williams (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child). Fiona Maguire (By the Queen) and Lauren Zbylski (Hamlet) serve as understudies.

Gingold is presenting this traditionally male-driven story with a cast of five women, who play all the roles to more fully embrace Shaw’s examination of the struggle for women’s rights. Set during the American Revolution and including events from 1777, this adaptation emphasizes the need for individuals to embrace personal responsibility to keep democracy alive and well.

“Shaw’s plays consistently challenge us to think critically and engage with the world around us, and The Devil’s Disciple is no exception,” said Staller in an earlier statement. “As we approach a pivotal election season, this play serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of individual action and standing up for our beliefs.”

The production also features set design by Lindsay Genevieve Fuori, costume design by Tracy Christensen, lighting design by Jamie Roderick, sound design by Julian Evans, property design by Nicole Rozanski, and casting by Geoff Josselson.

The production stage manager is April Ann Kline, and David Vandervliet is the assistant stage manager. Production management is by Aurora Productions. Natalie Kane is the assistant director.
