A Sign of the Times—the new '60s-themed jukebox musical that was scheduled for a limited engagement at Off-Broadway's New World Stages February 7-March 3, produced by York Theatre Company—will now continue on as a commercial run beginning March 4. Opening night remains February 22.

As previously reported, Chilina Kennedy (Beautiful, Paradise Square) will star as Cindy, with Ryan Silverman (The Phantom of the Opera) as Brian, Justin Matthew Sargeant (Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark) as Matt, Crystal Lucas-Perry (Ain't No Mo', 1776) as Tanya, and Akron Lanier Watson as Cody.

The cast will also include Cassie Austin, Erica Simone Barnett, Alyssa Carol, Melessie Clark, Jeremiah Ginn, Kuppi Alec Jessop, Lena Matthews, Maggie McDowell, J Savage, Justin Showell, Michael Starr, and Edward Staudenmayer.

The show features a book by Lindsey Hope Pearlman and contains the songs of Petula Clark, Lesley Gore, Dusty Springfield, and other 1960s artists. The work is based on an original story by Richard J. Robin, following one young woman in the center of the pivotal decade of the 1960s, as the Vietnam War raged on, women fought for equal rights, and culture shifted rapidly. Gabriel Barre is directing.

The musical had its world premiere at Goodspeed Musicals’ Norma Terris Theatre before heading to the Delaware Theatre Company in 2018, where it played a sold-out run. An industry reading was held in NYC with Kennedy, Silverman, Sargeant, Lucas-Perry, McDowell, and Staudenmayer in the cast.

The upcoming staging will also feature choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter, music direction and orchestrations by Joseph Church, set design by Evan Adamson, costume design by Johanna Pan, lighting design by Tony Award winner Ken Billington, sound design by Shannon Slaton, projection design by Brad Peterson, and hair, wig, and makeup design by J. Jared Janas. Britt Bonney is music directing. Casting is by JZ Casting.

Wells St. Productions LLC, led by President Richard J. Robin, produces the commercial run.
