News Age Cannot Wither Her: Theatre Sets Romeo and Juliet in a Nursing Home Washington D.C.'s Unexpected Stage Company is putting a surprising twist on Shakespeare's most well-known love story with its staging of Romeo and Juliet: Love Knows No Age, re-imagined in a nursing home.

Performances began July 16 at the Randolph Road Theater in Wheaton and continue through Aug. 9.

In Romeo and Juliet: Love Knows No Age, the famous star-crossed lovers are in their 70's, and the feuding families, their adult children. "Set in an adult living community, this contemporary interpretation of a classic tragedy explores what happens when Romeo and Juliet fall passionately in love later in life," states the show's description.

Directed by Christopher Goodrich, the title roles are played by Elliott Bales and Claire Schoonover. The rest of the cast and production team include Clare Shaffer, Casey Kaleba, Brianna Capps, Kristen Jepperson, Zeke Dowty, Sean Doyle, Briana Manente, Ryan Salomon, John Barbee, Maria Heon, Tris Duncan, Justus Hammond, Dawn Thomas Reidy, Karen Fleming, Kecia Campbell, Ken Lechter, Ted Schneider, Josh Adams, Kim Curtis, Tiffany Garfinkle, Rachel Stroud-Goodrich.
