Tony winner J. Harrison Ghee will be part of the forthcoming Maui Ikaika (Maui Strong) benefit concert, which will be held at Open Jar Studios October 8 and live streamed free of charge.
Presented by Hālau Hula O Nā Mele `Āina O Hawai`i / Hula New York, the event will immerse the audience in the culture of the island, which recently experienced devastating wildfires.
The evening will be hosted by Ben Cameron (Wicked, Aida) and will include hula and mele performances, as well as a line-up of performers to be announced shortly, and a special appearance from Ghee.
Viewers will be encouraged to donate to their choice of Maui recovery organizations. Proceeds will benefit the Maui communities and families affected by the recent fires.
