Broadway's An American in Paris, based on the film of the same name, nabbed 12 nominations. Other productions that fared well include the new Broadway musicals Something Rotten!, which earned nine nominations, and The Visit, nominated for seven Drama Desks.

Honorees From Broadway and Beyond Celebrate the Season at the 2015 Drama Desk Award Reception!
Nominations for the 2015 Annual Drama Desk Awards were announced April 23. The Off-Broadway musical Hamilton received 13 nominations, the most of any production of the season. The nominees gathered at New World Stages the morning of May 6 for a celebratory reception!
The Drama Desk Awards make no distinction between Broadway and Off-Broadway and nominate artists from both in the same categories.
The 2014-2015 Drama Desk nominating committee comprised Barbara Siegel, chairperson, (author and freelance critic); Benjamin Coleman (literary associate, Samuel French Inc.); Adrian Dimanlig ("Interludes," www.adriandimanlig.com); Steve Garrin (broadcast producer; sound designer); Mahayana Landowne (theater director; interactive artist); and Steve Marsh (Director of Graduate Studies, Department of Theatre Arts, Stony Brook University).
The Drama Desk nominees will receive their official nomination certificates at the nominees' reception May 6 at New World Stages
The 60th Annual Drama Desk Awards, hosted by Laura Benanti, will take place May 31 at 8 PM at The Town Hall in Manhattan.
The company will also present a reimagining of Ain't Misbehavin', co-directed by original director Richard Maltby, Jr. and original star André De Shields.
