In an atypical move, though BOOP! The Musical opened April 5, the reviews were not released until April 7. But finally, the embargo has lifted. Read what critics have to say below.
Tony winner Jerry Mitchell is directing and choreographing the new musical, which began previews March 11. The work features a book by Bob Martin, music by David Foster, and lyrics by Susan Birkenhead.
Leading the cast in the title role is Jasmine Amy Rogers, as Betty Boop, who travels from her cartoon black-and-white world into modern day New York City to learn a little bit more about herself and bring inspiration to jaded New Yorkers.
