The non-Equity touring production of the Tony-nominated musical Come From Away will welcome several new cast members when performances for the 2024-2025 season resume September 10 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Returning cast members will include Kathleen Cameron, Addison Garner, Andrew Hendrick, Kristin Litzenberg, Erich Schroeder, and Andre Williams. They will be joined by newcomers John Anker Bow, Ryaan Farhadi, Richard Chaz Gomez, Jordan Hayakawa, Tyler Olshansky-Bailon, Hannah-Kathryn Wall, Nick Berke, K. Bernice, Jordan Diggory, Rayna L. Hickman, Sierra Naomi, and Justin Phillips.
Daniel Goldstein directs
the tour, and Richard J. Hinds provides musical staging,
all based on the original Broadway production's direction and choreography.
Come From Away, with music, lyrics, and a book by Irene
Sankoff and David Hein, opened on Broadway March 12, 2017, going on to
receive seven 2017 Tony nominations, including Best Musical. It was
originally directed by Christopher Ashley (who won the show's sole Tony
for Best Direction of a Musical) with musical staging by Olivier winner Kelly Devine and music supervision by Olivier winner Ian
Eisendrath.
The work, which played its final Broadway performance in October 2022, tells the true story of 7,000 air passengers stranded in Gander, Newfoundland, in the wake of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The touring production also features scenic design by Beowulf Boritt, costume design by Toni-Leslie James, lighting design by Howell Binkley, sound design by Gareth Owen, orchestrations by August Eriksmoen, tour music supervision by Wendy Bobbitt-Cavett, tour music direction by Harry Collins, and casting by The Telsey Office.
Sam Kronhaus is the production stage manager alongside assistant stage manager Gloria Bontrager-Thomas. The company management team is led by company manager Mackenzie Douglas with assistant company manager Kate Friesen. The tour music director is Sarah Pool Wilhelm.
