International News Watch Tony Winner Frances Ruffelle Sing From the New London Wild Party The 2000 Michael John LaChiusa musical begins previews February 13.

The new London production of Michael John LaChiusa’s The Wild Party has released two videos that feature leads Frances Ruffelle and Victoria Hamilton-Barritt performing numbers from the show.

The Wild Party begins previews at The Other Palace in London on February 13, opens February 20, and is scheduled for a limited run through April 1.

Directed and choreographed by 2016 Olivier Award winner Drew McOnie, the production stars Tony winner Frances Ruffelle (the original Eponine in Les Misérables on Broadway) as Queenie, and features Victoria Hamilton-Barritt and A Chorus Line Tony winner Donna McKechnie.

Watch Ruffelle and Hamilton-Baritt sing “My Best Friend” (above).

Here is Hamilton-Baritt singing “Black Is a Moocher”:

Based on Joseph Moncure March's 1928 poem of the same name, The Wild Party tells the story of Queenie and Burrs, a vaudeville showgirl and a vaudeville clown who decide to throw a party to end all parties.

As previously reported, LaChiusa’s 2000 Broadway musical adaptation of The Wild Party is being staged as the inaugural production of the Other Palace Theatre, the new name for the St. James Theatre, which is intended to provide a home and breeding ground for musicals new and old, complete and in development.

Producer Paul Taylor Mills serves as its artistic director. This production of The Wild Party reunites him with McOnie, who choreographed his London premiere of In the Heights and who serves as both director and choreographer for The Wild Party.

Musical direction is by Theo Jamieson, with designs by Soutra Gilmour, and lighting by Richard Howell.

McKechnie was last seen on Broadway as Chita Rivera's standby in the 2015 musical The Visit.
