Greg Ostrin's Kowalski, a new play exploring the first meeting between Tennessee Williams and Marlon Brando, has extended its Off-Broadway run.
The play, which began its New York premiere January 12, will now run an additional week. Initially scheduled to close at The Duke on 42nd Street February 16, the play will now continue through February 23.
Directed by Colin Hanlon, the cast features Robin Lord Taylor (Gotham, You) as Tennessee Williams and Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why) as Marlon Brando with Alison Cimmet (Gary, Amelie) as Margo Jones, Ellie Ricker (Y2K) as Jo, and Sebastian Treviño (On Your Feet! national tour) as Pancho Rodriguez.
Set in a 1947 Provincetown beach house, the play unfolds over one
sultry night as Williams (who is in the midst of crafting A Streetcar Named Desire), director Margo Jones, Pancho Rodriguez, and a
young Brando unravel together.
The creative team includes
costume designer Lisa Zinni, scenic designer David Gallo, lighting
designer Jeff Croiter, sound designer Bill Toles, movement specialist
Nancy Renee Braun, casting director Stephen DeAngelis, and general
manager Aaron Grant Theatrical.
Kowalski is produced by
Helm Capital/Jeffrey Sherman, Nathan Hughes, Karl E. Held, Willette
& Manny Klausner, Grace Street Creative, and Faried Assad.
