The new season of American Horror Story serves political scares on FX beginning September 5.

The seventh chapter of the anthology series, subtitled Cult, takes place in Michigan in the immediate aftermath of the 2016 presidential election—few additional plot details have been revealed.

In the trailer above, Broadway alum and Emmy winner Sarah Paulson and Tony nominee Alison Pill play a same-sex couple coming to terms with the results of the election—while the former confronts her coulrophobia (fear of clowns) with therapist Dr. Rudy Vincent (played by Cheyenne Jackson).

American Horror Story: Cult also features Tony nominee Frances Conroy, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, Colton Haynes, Tony nominee Mare Winningham, and Billy Eichner.
