Aisha Jackson, whose Broadway credits include Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Waitress, Paradise Square, and Once Upon A One More Time, joins the cast of The Notebook beginning October 22 at the Schoenfeld Theatre.

Jackson, who made history as the first Black actor to play the role of Anna in Disney's Frozen, is stepping into the role of Middle Allie, succeeding original cast member Joy Woods, who played her final performance October 20. Woods will join her former Notebook co-star Jordan Tyson in the cast of the upcoming Audra McDonald-led Broadway revival of Gypsy.

The current cast of The Notebook features Tony winner Maryann Plunkett as Older Allie, Tony nominee Dorian Harewood as Older Noah, Ryan Vasquez as Middle Noah, Anna Zavelson as Younger Allie, Benji Santiago as Younger Noah, Andréa Burns as Mother/Nurse Lori, and Carson Stewart as Johnny/Fin with Yassmin Alers, Alex Benoit, Chase Del Rey, Hillary Fisher, Jerome Harmann-Hardeman, Dorcas Leung, Happy McPartlin, Juliette Ojeda, Kim Onah, Charles E. Wallace, and Charlie Webb.

The musical adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' novel The Notebook opened March 14 at the Gerald Schoenfeld, after beginning previews February 10. The production has announced a December 15 final performance. A national tour will launch in September 2025.

Featuring a book by Bekah Brunstetter and a score by Ingrid Michaelson, The Notebook follows Allie and Noah, who share a lifetime of love despite forces that threaten to pull them apart.

The core creative team members from the Chicago Shakespeare Theater world premiere returned for the Broadway production—with co-direction by Michael Greif (Dear Evan Hansen, Rent) and Schele Williams (Aida, Motown the Musical) and choreography by Katie Spelman.

The new musical also has scenic design by David Zinn and Brett J. Banakis, costume design by Paloma Young, lighting design by Ben Stanton, sound design by Nevin Steinberg, projection design by Lucy Mackinnon, and hair and wig design by Mia Neal. The production’s music supervisor is Carmel Dean, who collaborated on arrangements with Michaelson and on orchestrations with John Clancy. Geoffrey Ko is music director. Casting is by The Telsey Office's Patrick Goodwin, with Chicago casting by Bob Mason. Victoria Navarro is production stage manager.
