The Muny all star production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast begins performances June 22, for a limited run through June 30. The Muny is America's oldest and largest outdoor music theatre.
Directed by John Tartaglia, The Muny production of Beauty and the Beast stars Ashley Blanchet as Belle, Ben Crawford as The Beast, Claybourne Elder as Gaston, Ann Harada as Mrs. Potts, Kelvin Moon Loh as Lumiere, Eric Jordan Young as Cogsworth, Holly Ann Butler as Babette, Tommy Bracco as Lefou, Harrison White as Maurice, Debby Lennon as Madame de la Grand Bouche, and Michael Hobin as Chip.
Beauty and the Beast is choreographed by Patrick O'Neill, and features music direction by Ben Whiteley. The production is sponsored by Ameren.
Based on the Disney animated film of the same name, Beauty and the Beast boasts music by Alan Menken and lyrics by the late Howard Ashman, with additional songs with music by Menken and lyrics by Tim Rice. The book is written by Linda Woolverton.
