The upcoming West End revival of Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie has completed its creative team, adding costume designer Edward K. Gibbon, composer and sound designer Nick Powell, and design associate Choy-Ping Clarke-Ng. The production will be led by Amy Adams in her West End debut as Amanda Wingfield.
Performances are set to begin May 23 with opening night May 31. The run is scheduled to continue through August 27 at the Duke of York's Theatre.
Jeremy Herrin is set to direct, leading a creative team that also includes designer Vicki Mortimer, lighting designer Paule Constable, and video designer Ash J Woodward, with casting by Jessica Ronane.
Also appearing in the cast, as previously announced, will be Paul Hilton and Tom Glynn-Carney splitting the role of Tom; Lizzie Annis as Laura; and Victor Alli as The Gentleman Caller.
The production has released 18,000 tickets for the production, including some for formerly sold-out performances. A June 6 evening performance was also added.
The revival will be the debut production from Second Half Productions, founded by Herrin, Alan Stacey, and Rob O'Rahilly. Clarke-Ng joins the production as part of a Second Half initiative aiming to give employment opportunities to early career artists, a program supported by Susie Sainsbury.
