The rhythm is gonna get you—a movie musical adaptation of On Your Feet!is in the works, Deadline reports. Lissette Feliciano is set to write and direct the film for Sony Pictures.
Based on the lives and music of Gloria and Emilio Estefan, the musical originally opened on Broadway in November 2015. The jukebox musical featured beloved songs from the collective 26-time Grammy winners, like "Get on Your Feet," "Conga," and "1-2-3," with a book by Alexander Dinelaris Jr, and Tony winner Jerry Mitchell at the helm.
Choreographer Sergio Trujillo received a Tony nomination for the production. The Broadway run concluded in August 2017, followed by a West End engagement and touring productions in the US, U.K., and Ireland.
The original Broadway cast featured Ana Villafañe and Josh Segarra as Gloria and Emilio Estefan. Casting for the film adaptation has not yet been announced.

Going from Cole Escola to Betty Gilpin to Tituss Burgess in Broadway's Oh, Mary! isn’t the first time a show has thrown gender norms to the wind with replacement casting.
A portion of the proceeds from the concert will benefit the Entertainment Community Fund's Women's Health Initiative, founded by the late Phyllis Newman.
