Helmed by Newsies director Jeff Calhoun, performances take place at New World Stages.

"Broadway legend Maurice Hines taps us through his incredible career in show business in this song and dance celebration," states a description on the show's website. "Hines pays tribute to his brother, Gregory, and the performers who inspired him—from Frank Sinatra to Lena Horne—with standards like 'Luck Be a Lady,' 'Smile,' 'It Don’t Mean a Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing).'"

Along with Hines, whose numerous stage credits include The Girl in Pink Tights, Eubie! and Sophisticated Ladies, the show features dancers John and Leo Manzari, Devin and Julia Ruth and Natarelli.

"This show started with my wanting to celebrate my brother Gregory," Hines said in an earlier statement. "I read an article on tap a few years ago and his name wasn't mentioned — so wrong! But now I get the chance to honor properly what a fabulous tap dancer he was. This show also gives me the opportunity to thank the fantastically effortless performers who influenced me."

Maurice Hines Tappin' Thru Life has set design by Tobin Ost, sound design by Michael Hahn, lighting design by Michael Gilliam and projection design by Darrel Maloney.
