Falsettos star Andrew Rannells is set to publish a memoir in spring 2019. The two-time Tony nominee told Entertainment Weekly that the book, a recount of growing up gay in the Midwest and his ambitious journey to Broadway, is “by far the most personal project I have ever worked on.”
Rannells revealed the news via Twitter, stating that he was “very excited” to finally share the announcement.
According to EW, the memoir will detail his “hellish” experiences of working in dinner theatre and embarrassing auditions, as well as a number of stories attributing to his success and passion for the industry. The book, Rannells’ first, will be published by Crown Archetype.
A recent Tony nominee for his performance as Whizzer in the revival of Falsettos, Rannells’ Broadway creditsalso include Hamilton, The Book of Mormon, Hairspray, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch, among others. He was also Tony-nominated for his work in Mormon.
