Education News Applications Now Open for Broadway for All's 2024 Summer Conservatory

Located in Midtown Manhattan, the summer program is free for all selected participants, as the program is designed to level the playing field for students without access to costly training resources.

Applications are now open for Broadway For All (BFA)'s 2024 Summer Conservatory. The 4-week intensive program grants students from 5th to 12th grade the opportunity to train with industry professionals and collaborate with other artists.

Students are encouraged to apply for one or all of the program's divisions, which include Drama, Musical Theatre, Dramatic Writing, and TV/Film Production. Programming is free for all participants, as the intensive is designed to level the playing field for students without access to costly training resources. The application deadline is 11:59 PM ET May 17.

Programming will be held July 8-August 7 in Midtown Manhattan, where students will be given the opportunity to participate in a curated theatre curriculum, attend Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, and perform in an industry showcase. BFA alumni have gone on to perform in Broadway shows including MatildaFinding NeverlandThe King & I, and more. 

“For over 10 years now, our core mission at BFA has been to provide rigorous opportunities in the spirit of pluralism and equity in theatre,” Founder and Artistic Director Osh Ashruf said in a statement. “Our Summer Conservatory provides students of disproportionate means the opportunity to train with seasoned professionals on equal footing. To do this right it must be zero cost for all of the students—no matter their zip code.

Founded in 2012 by Ashruf, Broadway For All is a Manhattan-based national organization that equips young artists and professionals with the programming, community, and vision to build a more inclusive and powerful arts industry. In 2022, Broadway For All was recognized with the Tony Honors for Excellence in Theatre award.
