Saturday Night Live, readying to launch its historic 50th anniversary season later this month, has turned to some Broadway notables to get things started off right.

Theatre fans will likely be most interested in the October 12 episode, which will be hosted by Wicked film star Ariana Grande, with musical guest Stevie Nicks. With the Wicked film due to release just over a month after the episode airs, we'll be sure to look out for any sketches lampooning the Broadway-to-screen musical.

Emmy winner and Tony nominee Jean Smart will host the inaugural episode September 28 with musical guest Jelly Roll, while John Mulaney, soon to be back on Broadway in All In: Comedy About Love by Seth Rich, will host the November 2 episode with musical guest Chappell Roan. Also set to host the season's first episodes are comedian Nate Bargatze October 5 with musical guest Coldplay, and Beetlejuice Beeltejuice film star Michael Keaton October 19 with musical guest Billie Eilish.

The long-running series will officially mark its momentous 50th anniversary with a live primetime special February 16, 2025.
