Toronto actor Chilina Kennedy, who has had a lengthy run in the Broadway production of Beautiful — The Carole King Musical, recreates her work as the legendary singer-songwriter for Canadian audiences beginning June 27. She will return to the Broadway production at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre following this engagement.
The Toronto run plays the Ed Mirvish Theatre through September 3. During that time, Abby Mueller takes on the title role on Broadway.
Kennedy is joined by fellow Canadian, Liam Tobin, who originated the role of Gerry Goffin on tour, with Erika Olson as Cynthia Weil, Ben Fankhauser as Barry Mann, James Clow as Don Kirshner, and Suzanne Grodner as Genie Klein.

With a book by Tony and Academy Award nominee Douglas McGrath, direction by Marc Bruni, and choreography by Josh Prince, Beautiful features songs written by Gerry Goffin/Carole King and Barry Mann/Cynthia Weil. It tells the story of King’s rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in music history.
