After earning a Drama Desk nomination and Theatre World’s 2018 Dorothy Loudon Award, Ben Edelman will cross the pond to prove his acting chops in London. The actor will reprise his performance as Charlie in the West End premiere of Admissions; as previously reported, performances begin February 28 at Trafalgar Studios.
Edelman appeared in the Lincoln Center Theater production of Joshua Harmon’s play last year. His additional credits Harmon’s Significant Other on Broadway and The Chosen at Long Wharf Theatre.
Also joining the company are Sarah Hadland (BBC One’s Miranda) as Ginnie, Andrew Woodall as Bill, and Margot Leicester as Roberta. As announced earlier, Alex Kingston (Doctor Who) will take on the role of Sherri.The play, directed by Daniel Aukin, follows an admissions officer at an exclusive college prep school trying to combat institutionalized racism. Her son sets his sights on an Ivy League university, causing his parents' progressive values to clash with his personal ambitions.
Performances will run through May 25; a U.K. tour is expected to follow.
