Season 3 of the Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning Mozart in the Jungle will drop on Amazon December 9.
The show follows Rodrigo, the young new maestro at the head of the New York Symphony Orchestra, and Hailey, a young oboist trying to make it as a musician. In this third season, “Rodrigo heads to Venice to find inspiration working with an operatic diva. Meanwhile Hailey unsuccessfully tours Europe and begins to question her career as an oboist.”
Three-time Tony winner Bernadette Peters reprises her role of Gloria in the upcoming season. Peters appears in the trailer shouting to Gael García Bernal (Rodrigo) about how “the family is dying,” meaning his orchestral family.
Peters last appeared on Broadway as Sally in the 2011 revival of Follies. She is known for such roles as Desiree Armfeldt in the 2009 revival of A Little Night Music, Rose in the 2003 revival of Gypsy, Annie in Annie Get Your Gun, the Witch in Into the Woods, Dot in Sunday in the Park with George, and Emma in Song and Dance. She received the Isabelle Stevenson Award in 2012.
