It's time to bone up on your Scooby snacks and hop on the jivin' mystery mobile as SpeakEasy Stage Company's Late Night Series presents Jinkies! The Scooby Doo Mysteries opening April 23.
Jinkies! follows the adventures of four ghost-seeking teens; Freddy, the all-American guy; Daphne Blake, the wealthy diva; Velma Dinkley, the group brainiac; Shaggy Roger, the easygoing hippie, and a Great Dane named Scooby, as they attempt to uncover the mystery of the Fairground Phantom.
Based on the long-running cartoon series "Scooby Doo, Where Are You?," author Eric Pliner combines scripted parody, classic improv, campy songs and just a dash of audience participation to create his latest humorous late night show.
The Late Night Series, which runs every Friday and Saturday night beginning at 10:30 PM, presents new works from authors in the Boston area. Some past shows are John Kuntz's Freaks, Party Poopers, Actorz. . .With a Z and After School Special.
The cast of this mysterious escapade includes Jan Davidson, Brian Jewell, Melanie Lerch, T'al Merion, Daniel Newfield, Amy Rhodes and Dan Richardson. Jinkies! The Scooby Doo Mysteries opens April 23 and runs through May 1. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased by calling (617) 426-0320.
