At the Tony Awards, after the statues are given to the winners, they are taken to the media room, where they speak to journalists about their prizes. Playbill was able to have some one-on-one time with some of the 2023 Tony winners. We spoke with Brandon Uranowitz after winning the prize for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play for his work in the Tony-winning Leopoldstadt.
Watch the video above to see Uranowitz react to winning. "I'm also completely blacked out, so I don't actually know what I'm saying," he admits to Playbill. Uranowitz also talked about what he wished he could have said in his awards acceptance speech.
The evening marked Uranowitz's first Tony win and fourth Tony nomination. His other Broadway credits include An American in Paris, Falsettos, The Band's Visit, and Burn This.
Edelstein will directs a cast of 30, with nearly 1,000 San Diegans participating directly in the milestone production that will mark the completion of the Bard’s canon at the venue.
