Hamilton star Brandon Victor Dixon is among the special guests who join Jamie deRoy at the Jamie deRoy & Friends cabaret October 16 at Birdland.
Proceeds from the 6 PM concert, produced by deRoy, benefit The Actors Fund: Jamie deRoy & Friends Cabaret Initiative, an endeavor that assists those in the cabaret industry who have medical needs and concerns.
According to press notes, “Performers who light up the marquees of cabaret, theatre, music and comedy will join Ms. deRoy.”
Hosted by deRoy, the evening features Tony Award nominee Dixon (Hamilton, Shuffle Along, Motown), singer-songwriter Julie Gold, Julie Halston (You Can’t Take It With You, Anything Goes, Hairspray, Gypsy), cabaret artist Marilyn Maye accompanied by Grammy-winning musical conductor Billy Stritch and comedian Steven Scott.
Barry Kleinbort directs the October 16 event, with musical direction by Ron Abel. Tom Hubbard is on bass with Ray Marchica on drums.
Birdland is located at 315 W. 44th Street. Tickets are $60 for VIP and $35 for general seating; there is a $10 food/drink minimum per person. For reservations, call (212) 581-3080.
