Broadway alum Craig Rubano brings a new concert show titled Take the Moment to New York City's Laurie Beechman Theatre beginning March 15. Rubano has two additional performances planned, also at the Beechman, for April 13 and May 19. Tickets are available here.

The new concert is described in press notes as "a collection of songs that shine a spotlight on the choices we make during the moments that matter." Audiences can expect to hear songs by Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, Stephen Sondheim, Alan and Marilyn Bergman, Jerry Herman, and more, accompanied with stories from Rubano's life and multi-hyphenate career.

Fellow cabaret mainstay Jeff Harnar is directing the evening, which features Rubano backed by music director Beth Ertz. Also in the band are Marc Schmied on bass (Jeffrey Carney will play the April and May performances).

Rubano's stage career began with the New York premiere of Charles Strouse's musical adaptation of Charlotte's Web, which starred Rubano as Wilbur the pig. He would make his Broadway debut as Marius during the original run of Les Misérables, later appearing in The Scarlet Pimpernel. His debut solo album, Finishing the Act: Act One Finales From Broadway, won a MAC Award for Recording of the Year. Later albums include Change Partners and The Night They Invented Champagne: Operetta and Its Musical Legacy.
