We now know how Broadway's 35 currently running productions performed in the final week before nominations for the 2023 Tony Awards were revealed May 2. Prima Facie and Peter Pan Goes Wrong both saw notable post-opening bumps, with both productions dangerously close to joining the $1 Million Club. The performance from both is especially notable because the two were missing from the Best Play nominees in today's Tony Awards news. If the productions can continue their box-office success, we doubt their producers will mind being left out.

Elsewhere, grosses remained more or less where we've been used to seeing them in recent weeks. Sweeney Todd continues to nest firmly in the top five highest-grossers, ranking third this week behind long-running hits The Lion King and Hamilton. As long as the Sondheim revival continues to perform, the production has the potential to become a record breaker at the Lunt-Fontanne, which has struggled to find a longtime tenant since 2013's Motown The Musical.

Other strong performers among the season's new shows include Parade; & Juliet; A Beautiful Noise; New York, New York; and Camelot. The former three made the $1 Million Club last week, and New York, New York and Camelot are within striking distance of joining them. Of course, the wild card looking ahead will be the effect of today's Tony Award nominations, which historically have shown immediate, noticeable impact to grosses. Those numbers won't be available until next Tuesday.
