Jeff Rizzo serves as musical director for "James Barbour – In Concert" to play at the North Hollywood venue Sept. 23 and 30 at 8 PM. Proceeds will benefit The NoHo Arts Center's resident company Open At The Top. In addition to his current turn in the musical Lizard, Barbour has previously been seen as The Ghost in the NoHo Arts Center's production of The Ghost And Mrs. Muir. He is also expected to reprise his role as Sydney Carton in the Broadway-aimed musical version of A Tale of Two Cities — which he played in workshops.
Barbour last appeared on Broadway portraying the William McKinley's assassin Leon Czolgosz in the 2004 Tony Award-winning revival of Assassins. He has also appeared on Broadway as Rochester in Jane Eyre, the Beast in Beauty and the Beast, Billy Bigelow in Carousel and Officer Lockstock in Urinetown. Other credits include the original Broadway cast of Cyrano, the L.A. staging of Lewis and Clark Reach the Euphrates, Camelot at the Hollywood Bowl and the national tour of The Secret Garden.
