As of Aug. 27, the ALS Association has received $94.3 million in donations compared to $2.7 million during the same time period last year (July 29-Aug. 27), and awareness has been raised by the viral Ice Bucket Challenge — asking individuals to pour ice water over themselves and/or donate to the cause.
