The Encores! Off-Center production of Promenade is presented July 10–11 as part of New York City Center's 75th Anniversary Season.
Directed by Laurie Woolery with music direction by Greg Jarrett and choreography by Hope Boykin, the production features Mark Bedard as Jailer, Becca Blackwell as Mayor, Eddie Cooper as Mr. R, Daniel Everidge as Mr. T, Carmen Ruby Floyd as Miss I, Marcy Harriell as Miss U, James T. Lane as 105, Bonnie Milligan as Miss Cake, Kent Overshown as 106, Bryonha Parham as Servant, Don Darryl Rivera as Soldier/Driver, Soara-Joye Ross as Miss O, Steve Routman as Soldier/Injured Man, Saundra Santiago as Mother, and J.D. Webster as Mr. S.
Promenade, which features a book by María Irene Fornés and music by Al Carmines, follows two escaped prisoners, known only as 105 and 106, as they run through the city, mingling with an assortment of characters from the poor and homeless to the extremely wealthy.
The Lobby Project, a series of free, pre‐performance events, will feature an investigative theatre performance based on the themes of each Off-Center production created by City Center Artists-in-Residence The Civilians. The events take place in City Center’s Grand Tier lobby one hour before curtain and are free for ticket holders.
