The immersive theatre trend continues to uncover new site-specific locations.

Carmine's, the legendary family style Italian restaurant in Times Square, will host a new immersive experience inside its Sinatra Room for those who crave a side of carbonara with their drama. Organized by immersive theater company American Immersion Theater, Speakeasy Die Softly will open inside the restaurant on September 20, and run through October 5.

This production follows American Immersion Theater's recent feature on Shark Tank, which led to a partnership with Blumhouse, a leader in innovative and captivating storytelling. The company employs a roster of more than 2,000 performers known as "Immersioneers"—the largest ensemble of any immersive theatre company.

Now in previews, Speakeasy Die Softly includes a 30-minute cocktail reception in addition to a three-course meal of Carmine's favorites—alongside a classic-style murder-mystery game. The premise is simple: it's the 1920s and you're enjoying dinner at the Lou Zar speakeasy when someone is unexpectedly murdered. As the dinner party endeavors to avoid the prying eyes of the feds while searching for the culprit, the plot soon turns thicker than a bolognese.
