Readings and Workshops Cast Set for Reading of The Thing About Jellyfish

Tyne Rafaeli will direct Keith Bunin's new play, based on the novel of the same name.

Madison Wells Live will present an industry reading of Keith Bunin's new play The Thing About Jellyfish October 6 in Manhattan.

Directed by Tyne Rafaeli, the cast will feature Matilda Lawler (Station 11) as Suzy, Mia Williamson as Franny, Lexi Perkel as Aubrey, Antonio Watson as Justin, April Matthis as Adult 1, Mateo Castel as Dylan, Zak Orth as Dan, Stephanie Janssen as Meg, and Robert Stanton as Jamie Seymour.

Based on the best-selling novel by Ali Benjamin, the play follows Suzy Swanson, whose world is shattered when she learns of her best friend's drowning, just days before starting seventh grade. Convinced that the cause of the tragedy must have been a jellyfish sting, she vows to solve the mystery.

The Thing About Jellyfish, which marked Benjamin’s fiction debut, was published by Little, Brown Books in 2015 and was named one of the Best Books of 2015 by School Library Journal.

Madison Wells also holds the exclusive film rights to The Thing About Jellyfish. Visit MadisonWellsMedia.com.
