Tony nominee Constantine Maroulis (Rock of Ages, Jekyll & Hyde), Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider, and Metropolitan Opera tenor James Valenti (Tosca, Madame Butterfly) will star in this fall’s national tour of Rocktopia. Direct from its Broadway run earlier this spring (also featuring Snider), the show celebrates the fusion of rock and classical music and features performances by renowned vocalists, a five-piece rock band, a choir of 30, and a 20-piece orchestra.
Rocktopia will head to the Bergen County Performing Arts Center in New Jersey (October 18), the Tilles Center in New York (October 20), Palace Theater in Pennsylvania (October 24), Akron Civic Theatre in Ohio (October 25), Youngstown Powers Memorial Auditorium in Ohio (October 26), and KeyBank State Theatre at Playhouse Square in Ohio (October 27).
Created through the vision of vocalist and recording artist Robert Evan and Maestro Randall Craig Fleischer, the high-octane show showcases the works of Mozart, Queen, Beethoven, Journey, Handel, U2, Tchaikovsky, Pink Floyd, and The Who, among others.
Joining Maroulis, Valenti, and Snider on tour are singers Chloe Lowery (Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Rocktopia on Broadway); Wé McDonald (2017 finalist on NBC’s The Voice); Tony Vincent (Rocktopia on Broadway; American Idiot); and Alyson Cambridge (Rocktopia on Broadway; The Merry Widow).
The show will also feature solo musicians Grammy and Emmy-nominated violinist Máiréad Nesbitt and guitarist Tony Bruno.
The Rocktopia tour is produced by Rocktopia Broadway LLC in association with Hughes Walls LLC. The production opened on Broadway earlier this year at the Broadway Theatre. Check out highlights from the run below.
