The reading features the talents of Acting Company board member Dana Ivey and Acting Company alumni Dakin Matthews, Anne McNaughton, Jacqueline Correa, Julie Jesneck, Joseph Midyett, Pamela Nyberg and Myxolydia Tyler as well as guest artists Gisela Chipe and Amanda Pinto.
“The Cradle Song has been translated into many languages and performed worldwide but not seen on Broadway since Eva Le Gallienne directed it in 1927,” said Margot Harley, producer of The Acting Company, in a recent statement. “The playwright was a pioneer of 20th Century Theater in Spain, translating and producing works of Shakespeare, Shaw and Pirandello as well as commissioning Federico Garcia Lorca to write plays and engaging Salvador Dali to design sets for his theater.”
The reading will be followed by a reception with the cast and director, Jonathan Bank, artistic director of the Mint Theater Company.
