Asolo Repertory Theatre's production of the Tony-winning musical Crazy for You plays the Sarasota, Florida, venue November 15, 2023-January 4, 2024.

Two-time Tony nominee Denis Jones (Tootsie and Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn) directs a cast led by Daniel Plimpton (The Book of Mormon national tour) as Bobby Child and Sara Esty (The Phantom of the Opera) as Polly Baker. Jones also choreographs.

They are joined by Danny Gardner as Bela Zangler, Candice Hatakeyama as Irene Roth, Barrett Riggins as Lank Hawkins, Craig Waletzko as Everett Baker, and Madeleine Doherty as Lottie Child.

Rounding out the company are Lindsay Lee Alhady, Michael Warren Bingham, Delaney Benson, Darien Crago, Sarah Dearstyne, Kirsty Fuller, Beau Harmon, Leeds Hill, Bryan Thomas Hunt, Masumi Iwai, Elliott Mattox, Alex Pouloutides, Jody Reynard, Lily Rose, Maria Scherer, Michael Schimmele, Jack Wunsch, and Brett Cole Young.

Crazy for You, with music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and a book by two-time Tony Award nominee Ken Ludwig, is based on the 1930 musical Girl Crazy. The 1992 Broadway production was directed by Mike Ockrent with choreography by Susan Stroman.

The musical played Broadway's Shubert Theatre January 1992-January 1996. Harry Groener and Jodi Benson headed the original Broadway cast. The musical won three 1992 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. A West End revival, starring Charlie Stemp, plays London's Gillian Lynne Theatre.

The creative team also features music director Angela Steiner, scenic designer Adam Koch, costume designer Eduardo Sicangco, associate costume director David Covach, lighting designer Jason Lyons, sound designer Ken Travis, hair, wig, and makeup designer Michelle Hart, fight director Mark Rose, and voice and dialect coach Patricia Delorey.

The production stage manager is Nia Sciarretta, the assistant stage manager is Jaclyn Kanter, and the cultural competency consultant is DeWanda Smith Soeder with casting by JZ Casting's Geoff Josselson and Katja Zarolinski.
