David Cromer and Caitlin Sullivan will co-direct the upcoming world premiere of Jordan Harrison's The Antiquities. A co-production of Playwrights Horizons, Vineyard Theatre, and Chicago's Goodman Theatre, the play will make an Off-Broadway bow at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theatre running January 20-March 2, 2025. The production will then head to the Goodman, with performances running May 3-June 1, 2025.
The new work from the Marjorie Prime playwright takes place decades in the future in a museum dedicated to memorializing human life in the early 21st century.
The co-production reunites Harrison with some of his most frequent theatrical homes. Playwrights Horizons previously presented his plays Maple and Vine, Doris to Darlene, a cautionary valentine, Marjorie Prime, and Log Cabin, while Vineyard premiered The Amateurs. The Goodman presented The Amateurs following its Vineyard bow.
Casting and further creative team members are to be announced.
